This is What Four Looks Like

To me this is what being 4 is all about.....Carefree, happy and joyous.  Not a care in the world and doing exactly what you should be doing at this age.  Playing and loving life.  Most days she is such a happy child and just wants to do the right thing.  The sweetest words I hear her say are "O.k. Mama" when I ask her to do something.  That's the only time she calls me "Mama".  Usually, it's Mommy:)  How fortunate I am to have a child with an easy going personality. 

Of course...this will probably all change in about 11 years.  Let's hope not:)

Carson's 4th Birthday Party

We had Carson's birthday this year at Kelly's Kakes.  One of our favorite little girly restaurants to go to.  They are known for their extensive dessert menu which of course is why we love it.  Their cupcakes are tremendous and they do the cutest cakes.

Carson's party was a tea lunch with cake and the girls played a few games and dressed up at the party.  At a couple of  points during the party Carson said she wanted to go home.  Not really knowing what was going on at the time......I thought she wanted to go home to open her gifts.  I had told her we would take them home since it was only a 1 1/2 hour party.  Well how bad did I feel when Monday morning she was diagnossed with Strep!  She had never had that before......but they did the test at the pediatrician's office and sure enough.....positive for strep. 

All in all it was a very cute party and she did have a good time.  She had some of her friends from school and a few other close friends.

Beach Trip 2012

We took a fantastic trip down to one of my very favorite places.......Seacrest Beach, FL.....located on 30-A.  It's just perfect because if you don't want to get in your car you don't have to.  It is a stones throw away from Rosemary Beach (fabulous little shops and restaurants) and GORGEOUS beach houses.  There is a candy store called The Sugar Shack that Carson absolutely loved.  What kid doesn't love a candy store??

Also, close to Alys Beach......this place is like a different world.  Amazing homes.......right out of a magazine.  They have a delighful little dougnut truck and we discovered an adorable sprayground that we didn't go to but will next time.  One day we will stay at Alys.......maybe in my dreams:)

It really was a great trip......we had a few minor incidents.....stolen Chaco flip flops from the boardwalk (guess other people needed them worse than I did) and a $1200 charge from a restaurant where we had eaten.  We can laugh about them now......just one of the casualites of going on a vacation.

We love it down there......just wish it wasn't so far.  But we'll be back next year for sure.  It's worth it once a year!

What's Been Going on This Summer

Summer is truly flying by.  We are, per the usual, going non stop this summer.  Carson has started swimming lessons each week and she loves it.  Her swimming teacher is our neighbor's good friend and saying she's wonderful would be an understatement.  She is a trained swimmer and also teaches kindergarten so she's perfect for the job!  What a blessing to have found her.

We have our SC friends coming to town this weekend and then on Wed, the 4th, we'll head down to Lake Blackshear for some South Georgia fun.

Dance party!!



Carson's 1st Dance Recital

Carson had her first dance recital on Sunday, June 3rd and she did fantastic.  She was so happy and smiling the whole time on stage.  It was really adorable.  We were sure the proud parents.  We were so glad that Ne-Ne, PaDoe, Honey, Papa, Kendra, Josh, Lisa & Tim all got to join us.  What a fun day~

I love you more than........

Daniel and Carson have this thing that they do each night before bed.  Often times the two of them calling out to each other......from our bedroom to hers.
He says "I love you more than ice cream!"
She says "I love you more than cupcakes!"
He says "I love you more than steak!"
She says "I love you more than Hello Kitty!"  And then you know that she really loves you.


Eventually she gets tired and stops their funny banter. I could listen to them go back and forth all night.......music to my ears.

Happy Spring!

Not a whole lot going on except not blogging in quite a while.  Loving this time of year except what it does to all of our allergies.....especially sweet little Carson. She certainly suffers during this time of year.  I see a visit to the allergist in our near future.

December.....has come & gone

December is such a busy month.  This month was particularly busy for us due to I had my work Christmas trip, a quick trip to Disney & then Christmas. 

Why on earth would we schedule a trip to Disney the weekend before Christmas??  Because we are nuts.....but actually it was great for a few reasons.  The weather was perfect (think shorts), the crowd was manageable & the Christmas lights and decorations were amazing.

We are super thankful to my parents for buying our Disney tickets for Christmas! Big thank you!!

We were also very glad for Kendra & Josh to come with us.  Not only did they know of plenty of things for us to take Carson to see.....they were such a huge help with Carson.  I think Daniel & I would have been super worn out if they had not been with us.


We were there about 2 1/2 days which I think was just enough time with a 3 year old.  The first night we went to Downtown Disney & ate at Rainforest Cafe.  Carson loved it there.  The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom & Epcot.  The last day we went to Hollywood Studios and back to Magic Kingdom.  Carson is already asking when we'll go back!
